Sibyl Lavinia Deacon passed away September 22, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born July 6, 1938, to Francis and Margaret Caster in New Rochelle, New York. She was raised and attended grade school in Larchmont, New York, and junior and senior high school in Mamaroneck, New York. Her family attended Salem Baptist Church in New Rochelle, New York. Sibyl was very active in the Camp Fire Girls, and she worked for the county each summer of high school testing the water quality of the local swimming areas and yacht clubs on Long Island Sound.

Upon graduating from high school, she attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, where she met her husband, David. They traveled around in the same group for the four years they were there. While David acted and produced plays, she was busy in science and chemistry labs. They graduated in 1960. She stayed to finish getting her Registry as a Medical Technician from Reid Memorial Hospital. She married David on September 10, 1960, at Salem Baptist Church in New Rochelle, New York. They immediately left for Boston where she got a job in medical research. Their first son, Marshall, was born in October the next year.  After moving and living in Richmond, Indiana for the next two years, another son, Keith, was born.

In 1965, David was offered a job at Texas A & I in Kingsville, Texas. Three years later a third son, Eric, joined the family.  Sibyl worked at the Navy Army Credit Union for many years before retiring to care for her parents. In 1990, she started working as a tour guide at the King Ranch. She was also active at the 1st United Methodist Church.

In 2018, she and David moved into a retirement community in Corpus Christi, Texas.
