Nació en Cuatrociénegas Coahuila el 10 de diciembre de 1961.

Hijo de Fidencio Rivas Santamaría y María Santos Cantú Reyes.

Raúl falleció el 2 de agosto en su casa de Kingsville Texas a la edad de 60 años. Padre de cuatro hijos maravillosos, hijo amoroso y hermano. Le precedieron en la muerte su padre Fidencio Rivas Santamaría, su hermana Silvia Rivas Cantú y su hermano Carlos Federico Rivas Cantú. Se dedicaba a ingeniería ambiental y era amante de las plantas. Raúl era conocido por su hermoso jardín lleno de calabazas, nopales, limas y limones, y hermosas flores como Ave de Paraiso. Tenía la habilidad de revivir cualquier planta moribunda. Le encantaba bromear y bailar, incluso con sus dos pies izquierdos. Tan pronto como conocía a alguien nuevo, bromeaba con ellos y los hacía reír como si los conociera desde hace años. Era un alma divertida y cariñosa. Será extrañado y recordado por todos sus seres queridos.

El velorio será el lunes 8 de agosto de 2022 en Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, de 5:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m.; con un santo rosario a ser rezado a las 7:00 PM. El martes 9 de agosto de 2022, una procesión fúnebre partirá de la capilla funeraria a las 9:30 a. m. hacia la iglesia católica St. Martin para una misa conmemorativa a las 10:00 a. m. Los servicios concluirán esa mañana.

Born in Cuatrocienegas Coahuila the 10th of December of 1961.

Son of Fidencio Rivas Santamaria and Maria Santos Cantu Reyes.

Raul passed away on August the 2nd at his home in Kingsville Texas at the age of 60. Father to four wonderful children, loving son, and brother to 13 siblings. He is preceded in death by his father Fidencio Rivas Santamaria, sister Silvia Rivas Cantu, and brother Carlos Federico Rivas Cantu. He was an environmental engineer and plant lover. Raul was known for his beautiful garden filled with squash, nopales, limes and lemons, and beautiful flowers like Ave de Paraiso. He had an ability to revive just about any dying plant. He loved to joke around and dance, even with his two left feet. As soon as he'd meet someone new, he would joke around with them and make them laugh as if he’d known them for years. He was a funny, caring soul. He will be dearly missed and remembered by all his loved ones.

A visitation will be on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, a funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 9:30 AM to St. Martin Catholic Church for a memorial mass at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude that morning.
