Emma Green

March 2, 1933 — July 5, 2020

Emma Green

Emma Green, wife, mother, grandmother and special friend to everyone, was called to eternal rest with Jesus on July 5, 2020. Emma was born on March 2, 1933 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Juan C. and Carmen Adame Silva.

Emma married William on September 9, 1962 on Laureles Ranch. Being a navy family, the Greens lived in San Francisco and Long Beach California, Beeville, Texas, Oak Harbor, Washington, and finally returning to Kingsville where William retired from active military service in 1978.

Emma was employed first by the Child Development Center at the Navy Base, and then by the Child Care Center at the First United Methodist Church where she remained for 20 years, retiring in 2000. She loved her job and loved the children. She was known as one who could calm a scared child down who didn’t want to be left at the center. She had a reputation as a caring nursery worker.

Emma’s main motivation in life was seeing to the needs of her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. She was totally dedicated to her family and would always place their desires and needs before her own. Galatians 5:22 and 23 tells us “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” These two verses describe what Emma was to those who knew or would like to have known her. She is truly seated with the angels at Jesus’ feet.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan C. and Carmen Adame Silva of Laureles Ranch; sisters, Benita, Ventura, Barbara, and Elida; and brothers, Pedro, Raul, and Juan.

Emma is survived by her husband of 57 years, William; daughters, Wanda Badger, and Deborah Green of Kingsville; grandchildren, Stephanie Green and Amber Badger of Kingsville, and Dustin Orr (Maricela), and great-granddaughter, Isabella Orr of San Antonio; sisters, Herlinda Quintanilla, Alicia Silva and brother, Robert Silva (Virginia) of Kingsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Emma was a member of Coastal Bend Fellowship Church, and Alice Chapter #61 Order of the Eastern Star. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Coastal Bend Fellowship Church, 1500 East Ceasar.
