Trinidad Reyna

Trinidad M. Reyna was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the age of 94.  Trinidad "Trine" was raised in Riviera, Texas. She married in 1948 and moved to Kingsville in 1953, where she had and raised her seven children.  Trine had all her boys involved in Little League growing up and would tirelessly get them to practice and attended all games possible; she was their biggest cheerleader and fan. Early on when two of her sons wanted a paper route, she would get up with them at very early hours before school and take them to pick up the paper bundles and drive them on their route.

In later years, as the grandchildren came along, she continued to be involved as much as possible with them and would attend as many functions as she could in whatever they were involved. She adored all her grandchildren and later enjoyed and loved the great grandchildren equally. They coined her “Grandma Reyna” or “Great-Great”. She also truly enjoyed time with favorite nieces and nephews and visits with her sister.  Trine loved sewing, having self-taught herself as a teenager, she would sew for her growing family and later for others who needed alterations or a completely new garment. Other hobbies included quilting, tending to her plants and watching baseball; and she loved birds.

Her first job outside the home, as her family got older, was at the Dixie Cream Donut shop where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her work mates and working with the public.  She was a people person and truly enjoyed talking with people, one of her lifelong traits that earned her many friends.  Her next job was in Food services in the main kitchen at Kingsville Independent School District, where she worked for 15 years until she retired.  While there, she received several service awards and enjoyed attending conferences along with other staff members.  Even while working full time, she cared at home for her disabled husband and a son that required special care. In addition, she also looked after the needs of her father, who was in an Elderly Care Home.

After retiring she was involved with the Lady of Good Counsel group, who worked on church events and prepared meals for the families of parishioners to serve at the church hall after the funeral of a loved one.

Later in life she required in home care for several years, only the last few months of her life were spent in an elderly care home. Our Mom was a selfless person, who put her family and those in need first. She gave of herself tirelessly and constantly.  Mom, you are so loved, rest in peace. ✝️.. It’s your turn; we will forever miss you.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Israel Reyna; granddaughter, Ana Lisa Reyna; father, Guadalupe Morales; mother, Calixta Martinez Morales; sister, Benita M. Reyna; and brother-in-law, Enrique Reyna.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ida (Jeorge, Sr.✝️) Mata, Israel (Bertha) Reyna, Jr., Albert (Dalia) Reyna, Hector (Diana) Reyna, Joel Guadalupe Reyna, William (Sally) Reyna, and Roger (Linda) Reyna; aunt, Teresa Esparza; grandchildren, Yvette Camera, Hector (Tamara) Reyna, Jr., Alberto Omar (Heidi) Reyna, Jeorge (Amanda) Mata, Jr., Jason (Tanya) Colin, Laura Karina (Jason) Garza, Drusilla Loren (Eric) Saul, Adrian Oden (Maryann) Reyna, Alyssa Odette (Ruben) Flores, Andres Orlando (Victoria Garcia) Reyna, Kamela Celeste Reyna, Justin Luke (Ana Lisa) Cruz, Kassandra Chrystal Reyna, Kalista Celine Reyna, and William Joshua Reyna; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
