Soila Gonzalez

Soila Rodriguez Gonzalez, 81, passed away on March 20,2021 in Bishop, Texas. She was born on August 14, 1939 in Beeville, Texas to Rodrigo Rodriguez Sr. and Bernarda Rodriguez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Valentin Gonzalez and son Teodoro Gonzalez.

Left to cherish her legacy and her memories include: her children, Lucy (Joe) Loera, Julia (late Joe) Montalvo, Bennie (Luz) Gonzales, Carmen (Mike) Barbeau, Robert Gonzalez, Estella Gonzalez (Jesse Reyes), and Gracie Gonzalez (late husband Lupe Cavazos); 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Soila, with a deep love for her family also loved attending parties and family gatherings. She also was no stranger to being the center of attention. She could always be found going to bingo every Monday and Thursday and when not playing bingo, was found cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. She had a large collection of Coca-Cola knick-knacks, loved listening to Los Tigres del Norte and was also well known for her tasteful menudo. Soila will be missed and loved forever but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
