Roberto Ramos

Our beloved Roberto Ramos, went to be with our Lord, He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, on March 4, 2020 at the age of 85. He was born in Kingsville, Texas on October 31, 1934 to Victor and Idolina Ramos.

It was in Kingsville where he met the Love of his life Elida Perez. She was his everything and he adored her dearly. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for her. He truly took to heart their marriage vows to honor, cherish, and love her. They were married 65 years.

He not only had a great love for his wife, but his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren too. He loved working on his yard, Sunday BBQ’s, listening to music, enjoyed traveling with his wife and visiting casinos. Nothing made him smile brighter than having his great grand kids sitting on his lap and watching them play outside. He was known to them as GG.

He was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Mutalistas Knights of Columbus. He worked and retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot after 27 years.

He is preceded in death by his son, Eden P. Ramos, his parents, Victor and Idolina Ramos, his brothers, Ruben Ramos, Valde Ramos, Victor Ramos III and his sister, Olga Paige.

Robert is survived by his wife, Elida Ramos; his children, Selina (Roel) Benavides of Kingsville, Texas, Linda (Oscar) Garcia of Taft, Texas, Sandra Dee (Ben) Charles of Kingsville, Texas, one sister, Idolina (Marcello) Carrillo of Sugarland, Texas; seven grandchildren, Hope Ramos, Nikki Garcia, Natalie Martinez, Viktoria Reyes, Joshua Ramos, Benjamin Charles,and Andrea Garcia; seven great grandchildren, Ava Suazo, Gabriella Garcia, Joaquin Garcia, Adahlia Reyes, Camillo Reyes, Oceana Suazo, and Blake Charles.

A special Thank you to his wonderful caregivers and nurses and caring staff at Corpus Christi Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 5p.m. to 9p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7p.m that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10a.m. at St. Martins Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
