Maria Evangelina Hernandez

Maria Helen Evangelina Hernandez passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 21, 2023, at the age of 76.  She was such a kind and loving lady; who would give to anyone who came across her path. Maria enjoyed to gamble and spending time with her family; and she was the most caring and giving person. Maria will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, generosity, carefree sense of humor, and love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was very proud of and cared deeply for her family; and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her son, James Hernandez; daughter, Noelia Hernandez Villarreal; infant daughter, Helen; parents, Jesus and Concepcion Rodriguez Villarreal; and sister, Elisa V. Castellano.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years, Israel Gonzalez; daughters, Belinda Hernandez, Jeanette Hernandez, Diamond Villarreal, Bonnie Gonzalez, and Amy Gonzalez; son, Luis Daniel (Laura) Hernandez; brothers, Edwardo "Eddie" (Debbie) Villarreal and Jesus M. Villarreal, Jr.; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving family members.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  Services will conclude that evening.
