Keith W. Trant of Helotes, Texas formally from Kingsville passed peacefully at his home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 10 at the age of 72. He was born to Wayne and Irene Trant on August 3, 1948 in Kingsville, Texas. At an early age, the family moved to Aransas Pass where he graduated from Aransas Pass High School. He graduated from Texas A&I University with a master’s degree in English and Journalism in 1976. Upon graduation, he was employed by JJ Well Service which led to the opportunity to continue working in the oil industry with Exxon, Mobile for over 35 years.
As a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Keith served as president of the congregation and elder until moving to Helotes in 2014, where he became an active member of Shepard of The Hills Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas.
Keith’s retirement journey guided him to Helotes so that he could continue his passion for skeet shooting where he competed and was the recipient of multiple titles, even at the world level. He was a part of the Texas State Skeet Alumni. Keith was a softball coach for 10 years coaching his daughter Sherry’s team and was involved in the Texas A&I Athletic Booster club.
He is survived by the love of his life of 53 years Yvonne; daughter Sherry Holladay (Justin); two granddaughters Demi Holladay of Austin and Kalyn Guthrie of San Antonio; great granddaughter Ava; brother Ray Trant of Aransas Pass and nephew Ryan Trant of Houston.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran in Kingsville, Texas.
