Jose And Rita De La Garza

Jose “Joe” Roldan De La Garza, passed away on September 8, 2021, at the age of 68.  He was born on October 18, 1952, to Jose and Margarita De La Garza.  In 1991, he met and fell in love with Rita M. De La Garza. Their union made their blended family whole, with their eight children, Dominick R. De La Garza, Dorathy L. Martinez, Julz M. De La Garza, Cynthia Nguyen, Jose R. De La Garza III, Monica O. De La Garza, Eli Gonzales, and Erica Perez.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents; and brother Ruben De La Garza.

Jose “Joe” is survived by his children; brothers, Pedro De La Garza and Rogelio De La Garza; sister, Alma Garcia; and numerous grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Rita M. De La Garza passed away on September 15, 2021, at the age of 65. She was born on August 15, 1956, to Jose Maria and Rita H. Garcia. In 1991, she met and fell in love with Jose R. De La Garza Jr. Their union made their blended family whole, with their eight children; Dominick R. De La Garza, Dorathy L. Martinez, Julz M. De La Garza, Cynthia Nguyen, Jose R. De La Garza III, Monica O. De La Garza, Eli Gonzales and Erica Perez.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents; brothers, Jose and Praxedis Garcia; and sister, Rosa N. Ramos.

Rita is survived by her children; sister, Olga Flores; brothers, Emerico, Jerry, Joel and Roel Garcia; and numerous grandchildren and a great grandchild.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 12:30PM, to St. Martin Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 1:00PM.  A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
