Jonathan Austin Schonefeld, 34, passed away on August 16, 2020 in Kingsville, Texas after a long illness. He was born on August 22, 1985 in Kingsville, Texas to Jay A. Schonefeld and Lisa Cannon Schonefeld. Jonathan graduated from H.M. King High School in 2003 and Texas A&M University Kingsville in 2013.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert W. (Billy Bob) Cannon; his paternal grandfather John F. Schonefeld and his aunt, Lynn Cannon Nollkamper.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Alyssa Ritter Schonefeld, of New Braunfels, Texas, his father Jay A. Schonefeld of Kingsville, his mother Lisa Cannon Schonefeld of Kingsville, his sister Jerrell (William) Diaz of Midfield, Texas and one niece, Jillian Diaz of Midfield, Texas. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Ernestine Schonefeld, of Kyle, Texas; his maternal grandmother, June Cannon, of Kingsville, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless very good friends.
Jonathan worked for Horton Automatics Inc. in Corpus Christi, Texas before moving to New Braunfels, Texas where he was employed by Comal Truck Gear. From a very young age Jonathan loved the outdoors, farming equipment, his Legos and his favorite pastime of riding his Razor and taking annual trips to Colorado with his group, Righteous Cowboy Lightning. He never met a stranger wherever he went, and his friends were very important to him. Jonathan had an admirable zest for life and was passionate about food, fun, family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held in the Fall of 2020.
