Israel Vela

Israel P. Vela, 84, went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2020 in Kingsville, Texas 78363. He was born on June 11,1935 in Kingsville, Texas to Jose Vela Sr. and Maria Perez Vela.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lina M. Vela, his parents Jose Vela, Sr. and Maria P. Vela; brothers, Jose Vela, Jr. and Hector Vela, sister; Panchita V. Salinas and grandson; BJ Vela.

He was survived by his sons; Israel “Rale” Vela, Jr. (Melinda), of Sarita, Jimmy (Sandra) Vela of Ricardo, Eloy Vela of Ricardo and Lee (Shirley) Vela of Ricardo, daughter; Norma Cipriano of Edinberg, 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 4:00pm – 9:00 pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sarita, Texas. Interment to follow at Riviera Cemetery.
