Willie J. Garza passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the age of 84. He served proudly in the Marine Corp Reserves in Camp Pendleton, California.  Willie was active in various civic organizations during his lifetime; he had a good sense of humor and was a generous person.  Throughout his life, he gave himself to his community; he enjoyed many gatherings and activities.  Upon his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife.  Willie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend; and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Angelina Garza; mother of his children, Ofelia T. Garza; and sister, Elva G. Rodriguez.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Victoria Garza; children, William D. Garza, Vanessa G. (Ruben) Martinez, and Randolph (Eloisa) Garza; grandchildren, Marina A. Garza, Noah A. Martinez, Christian M. Garza, and Ava K. Martinez; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 24, 2023, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church.  A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.

Honoring Willie as pallbearers are Albert Munoz, Rudy Madrid, Brandon Barrera, Dr. O.J. Rodriguez, Ruben Martinez, and Noah Martinez.
