Wanda Vincent

Wanda Mae Vincent, 83, passed away on May 10, 2021 in Calallen, Texas. She was born on June 28, 1937 in Buena Vista, Colorado to William and Dorothy Turner Shadden. A loving wife to an adoring husband. A mother to four grateful children, a doting grandma to loving grandchildren.

Mom loved her family and friends with the truest sense of the word. Our family always celebrated holidays and celebrations with a finely prepared meal by one of the absolute best cooks to be known. Deserts were aplenty and a chocolate cake that can not be compared. Mom would begin preparing days in advance and come that day, there was not a single item missing from the table. She was so amazing, so caring, so giving and so full of love. Mom never realized just how amazing she was and how many hearts she touched with her kindness and caring. She would, however, not hesitate to tell you “how the cow ate the cabbage”. Everyone was welcomed to her table and never were you at want for an uplifting smile, comforting conversation, and a full stomach of the best food you could find. So much care she put into taking care of others. Family, kids, grandkids, friends, and strangers, mom always made sure to care for and give all that she had to give.

The world is a little less bright today, but a whole lot brighter with her having been here. Mom loved The Lord Jesus Christ and wanted for the world to do so as well.

We will miss you with the deepest of sorrow, but we will praise The Lord’s name that we were so blessed to call you our mom, grandma, our friend. And we celebrate your now being in paradise. Your eternal home of glory with family and friends and all of the love that is love.

A fine and awesome job mom! We thank you, we love you and we will miss you so very much.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Larry DeWayne Vincent, son, Larry Lynn Vincent.

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Velia) Duncan, Lawanda (Foster) Meek, and Steven (Jennifer) Vincent; five grandchildren, Brianne Grobauer, Colt Vincent, Travis Duncan, Michael Romero, and Jordan Scott; one sister, Joyce Sherman, daughter in law Beverly Vassaur, one niece, Raye Ann Holland, and two nephews, Bill Chick, and Tom Parker, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
