Virginia G. Earls

Virginia G. Earls, beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on December 28, 2025, at the remarkable age of 96. Born on June 19, 1929, Virginia's journey began in Rios, Texas, where the seeds of her hardworking spirit were sown. She moved to Kingsville at a young age, and it was there that her vibrant life truly blossomed.

Virginia dedicated many years of her life to Kingsville Pharmacy, where her warm smile and welcoming nature endeared her to countless customers. Working in the historic downtown area, she not only served those who came to the soda shop connected to the pharmacy but also built enduring relationships within the community. Her fond memories of her time there included the guidance of her boss, Mr. Ellis, who helped shape her professional path and provided her with cherished lessons that remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Those who knew Virginia admired her incredible memory, which held an abundance of stories and knowledge about the past. She was a constant source of information for her family, often seen as the "Google" of the Gonzalez family by her youngest sister, Alma. Virginia had a remarkable ability to recall every detail of her life’s events and family history, and her long conversations on the phone with friends and relatives were a true testament to how much she valued her connections. That landline was her lifeline, keeping her in touch with those she loved.

In her golden years, Virginia was known for her feisty personality and her headstrong spirit. A passionate individual, she found joy in discussing politics right into her mid-nineties, often recalling the names of politicians and their backgrounds as if they were lifelong friends. Virginia infused her debates with vigor, always going to great lengths to articulate her opinions, making her discussions lively and engaging.

Virginia had a penchant for shopping, channeling her love for bargain hunting into a skill that few could rival. Long before couponing became a trend, she was the first to pull out her coupons, ensuring that every shopping trip was accompanied by savings. Her home was a testament to her exquisite taste; filled with items from estate sales, her décor showcased the treasures she found throughout her life.

Above all, Virginia adored her family, serving as a guiding light and a source of wisdom for her nieces and nephews. They often sought her counsel on family matters and history, knowing that her vast knowledge and loving heart would always provide them with comfort and connection. To them, she was more than just an aunt; she was a steadfast supporter and the anchor of family tradition.

Virginia's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her sharp wit, and her immense capacity to love. Her contributions to her family, her community, and the memories she made will be forever cherished.
