Tony Lee Macias, a beloved figure in the community and an esteemed law enforcement professional, was born on February 26, 1987, in Kingsville, Texas. He passed away on July 12, 2025, in Houston, Texas, after a short battle with cancer, leaving behind an enduring legacy and a profound impact on those who knew him.
Tony was an esteemed graduate of the Del Mar Police Academy and began serving in law enforcement for 15 years. He achieved the notable rank of Bishop Police Captain by the age of 30. His impressive career included roles as a Kleberg County Correctional Officer, a Deputy Sheriff with the Kleberg County Sheriff's Department, and service in the Kingsville Police Department. He was also a proud member of the Canine Unit for both Kleberg and Nueces County, where he leveraged his skills to protect and serve the community with honor and commitment.
Tony was not just a protector in his professional life; he embodied the spirit of community service in his personal life as well. He cherished attending community events and prioritized not only his own family's well-being but also the welfare of those around him, embodying the spirit of community service that defined him. His hobbies included working out at the gym, playing pool, and spending quality time with his family, all of which reflected his zest for life.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Benigno O. Macias Jr., who he honored in life through his own selfless and fearless service to family and community alike.
His proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his family and children, and he relished the joyful title of "Grandpa." Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Jewlie Macias, and their children, Tony Lee Macias Jr., Jacob Macias, Zaylie Mayorga, Jayce Macias, Royce Macias, and Roman Macias. He is also survived by his mother, Yolanda Jimenez; granddaughter, Emilia Macias; and siblings, Yvonne (Paul) Briseno, Manuel (Liza) Jimenez Jr., Rosa (Santiago) Ortiz, Marco (Monica) Jimenez, Crystal (J.R.) Macias Munoz, Kassandra (Jesse) Montes, Ruben Street, and Olivia Macias; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a prayer service to be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. and law enforcement honors to follow. Services will conclude that evening.
Tony Lee Macias was a man of great character, a pillar of his community, and a devoted family man. His legacy will live on through his family and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
