Tanya Renee Garcia, born on December 4, 1974, in Kingsville, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on April 2, 2025, at the age of 50. Tanya valiantly battled cancer over the years, showcasing remarkable strength and resilient spirit until her final moments.
For over 19 years, Tanya dedicated herself to her career at ACE Cash Express, where she became a beloved figure among her customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Her commitment and warm personality made a lasting impression on those who crossed her path, earning her a place in the hearts of many.
Tanya's greatest joy was found in spending time with her cherished grandchildren, Adam, Ozzie, Caleb, Maxine, Vayda, Orion, Mason, Addison, and Andrea. She took pride in being a loving grandmother and always ensured her family felt the warmth of her love and devotion.
Tanya is survived by her three devoted sons, Vito Cantu (Chelsea), Brandon Cantu (Natalie), and Cristian Cantu (Alxis), who will carry her memory forward through their lives. Additionally, she is survived by her parents Alberto Rene Garcia from Moreno Valley, California, and Yolanda H. Dwire from Lufkin, Texas, four brothers—Albert Garcia (Sara Garcia), Brian Matthew Dwire, Eric Dwire, and Michael Dwire—who stand together in their mourning yet cherish the legacy she leaves behind. Tanya also leaves behind her maternal aunts and uncle, Oralia Basaldua (Ralph Campos) and Hector Hinojosa, as well as numerous paternal aunts and uncles, including Jesus Garcia (Adriana), Lupe Garcia, David Garcia (Hilda), Noelia Cantu, and Belinda Salazar. Further, she is remembered fondly by various nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were touched by her kindness and love.
She was welcomed in heaven by her maternal grandparents, Cresencio and Christina Hinojosa, and her paternal grandparents, Jesus and Tomasita Garcia, and her late aunt, Velma McLendon, and her uncle, Juan Garcia.
As we gather to remember Tanya Renee Garcia, we celebrate her life filled with love, dedication, and warmth. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to live on through her family and cherished memories. May she rest in peace.
Special thanks to family members and friends who spent their time with Tanya on her final days and those who provided support, food, money, and prayers.
