Sharron Elizabeth Farris was born on Oct.22, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas.  She was the first child born to Lucie Ellen Virginia Mehner Haberer and Walter Everett Haberer.  She was proceeded in death by her husband, Claude P. (Joe) Farris, and her parents and her brother, Walter Kelly Haberer.

Sharron graduated from high school in 1962 and continued her studies at Texas A&I University. She was an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and held many offices. Sharron graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education.  Sharron worked for King Ranch for 41 years; she was originally hired in 1967 as an Assistant Record Keeper and Secretary. Then, she became the Central Files Clerk and was later promoted to Records Manager in 1996. She worked in this role until her retirement in 2008 and was extremely knowledgeable about the history of King Ranch.

Sharron was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and employee. She belonged to many civic organizations such as the Kingsville Women’s Club in the A.W.A.R.E. department where she was the official photographer. Sharron was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and watching her beloved Javelina’s playing football.

She was called to eternal rest on July 29, 2021.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sharron leaves to cherish her memory two sons Wyman (Christina), Brian, one stepdaughter Tina, and six grandchildren Bryce, Isaiah, Mia, Cordell, Rhett, and Nicole.

A Memorial Service will take place at 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd.  Services will conclude that evening.
