Roy Lee Bowyer

Roy Lee Bowyer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and member of the Kingsville community, passed away on December 9, 2023. He was born on September 2, 1960, and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, and dedication.

Roy had an accomplished career that spanned several decades. For 27 years, he worked for TAMUK doing maintenance and painting. His attention to detail and passion for his work were evident in every project he undertook. In 2008, Roy decided to venture out on his own and started his business, "Bluebird Painting." Through his business, Roy had the opportunity to transform residential homes, businesses, classrooms, and school grounds. He took immense pride in leaving a mark of beauty wherever he went and became well-respected in the industry. Beyond his professional pursuits and family life, Roy had a deep appreciation for hobbies that brought him joy. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan who never missed a game if he could help it. Additionally, he found solace in listening to classic rock music. The melodies would transport him to another time and place where cares melted away.

Roy is preceded in death by his father Norman Bowyer, and his brother Michael Bowyer.

To his family and friends, Roy was known as a devoted husband and loving father. He is survived by his wife Marty Bowyer; their children Jennifer T. Bowyer, Roy Lee Bowyer Jr. (Wendie Villarreal), and Daniel Enrique Bowyer; his grandchildren Julian Jaime, Dylan Bowyer, Roy Lee Bowyer III, Caleb O. Bowyer, and Michelle Neveah Bowyer; as well as his mother Delia T. Bowyer. Roy was a pillar of support for his family and always made time for them despite his demanding work schedule.

In times of grief like these, it is important to come together to honor the life lived by our dearly departed. Friends and family are invited to attend memorial services for Roy Lee Bowyer at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary on December 17, 2023, beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM.

While Roy's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his memory will forever remain in our hearts. In his passion for work and dedication to family, he leaves behind an inspiring example of what it means to truly live life to the fullest. May his soul find eternal peace as we celebrate the remarkable life of Roy Lee Bowyer.
