Rosemary A. Garza, fondly known as Rosie, passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on February 2, 1968, she was a beloved member of her family and community, known for her vivacious spirit and unwavering love for those around her.
Rosie was the wife of Ramon Garza Sr. She is survived by her three daughters, Rosalina Jo Ortega, Delilah (Jorge) Escalante, and Samantha (Davina) Garza, along with her son Daniel Garza. As a proud grandmother, she often referred to her grandchildren affectionately as her "chickens," doting on 22 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy into her life. Rosie's close familial ties extended to her sisters, Dalia (Fernando) Moreno and Carol Alvarez, as well as a large network of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who held her dear.
Rosie found happiness in hosting barbecues, creating treasured memories over meals and laughter with family and friends. Her enthusiasm extended to her love for playing maquinita games, an enjoyable pastime that brought her joy and connection amidst her circle.
A fashion enthusiast at heart, Rosie had an impressive collection of sunglasses and shoes, frequently expressing her vibrant personality through her distinctive style. Music also played a significant role in her life; she loved to sing her favorite songs, a passion that resonated with all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Eliseo C Alvarez Jr, mother, Martha R. Alvarez, son, Ramon "Ray" Garza Jr, granddaughter, Miracle Rey Escalante, brother, Jesse C. Verduzco, and her maternal grandparents, Domingo Rios Sr and Carolina T. Rios, and paternal grandparents, Eliseo Alvarez Sr and Anita C. Alvarez.
Rosemary's family will receive condolences beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, Kingsville, TX; with a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service and inurnment will follow immediately to Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
