Rosie Lee Schroeder was greeted by Jesus as she entered her eternal home on July 12, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born in Manor, Texas and was the youngest of 7 brothers and 3 sisters. She moved to Bishop with her family in 1941. She was baptized in the Richland Community and confirmed in Bishop at St. John Lutheran Church where she remained a faithful member for the rest of her life. She married Emmett Schroeder, the love of her life, in 1949 and provided a loving home for their 4 daughters.
Rosie Lee had a warm personality, was always smiling and never met a stranger. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, MeMaw, Big Granny and good friend. She loved life, her family, her church and her friends and loved hosting get-togethers. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Bible Study group, Sewing Club, Altar Guild, Church Council and served as President for several years. She led us by her Christian example and her love for Jesus.
She worked as a teller at the First State Bank in Bishop and then at Mercantile National Bank in Kingsville. After her retirement from banking, she worked at Bishop CISD as a substitute teacher for almost 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ida Meyer Prinz, her husband, Emmett, her daughter, Nancy Schroeder, her son-in-law, Tommy Pollard and a great granddaughter, Callie Londenberg.
She is survived by three children, Judy (Royce) Felder, Janet Pollard and Lois Staff. Her grandchildren, Stephanie (Paul) Londenberg, Courtney (Fred) Dodd, Matt (Britney) Felder, Lisa Trantham, Tim (Becky) Pollard, Travis (Samantha) Pollard, Melissa (Ryan) Jones and Lauren (Matt) Kiddy, many great grandchildren and two sister-in-laws, Mary Jane Schroeder and Dorothy Prinz, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Special thanks to The Villa Northwest for their loving care and kindness they provided her for seven years. We are grateful to Devoted Hospice for leading us through her final days. A special thanks to Karen Reese, nurse practitioner, for her exceptional care of Rosie Lee.
Rosie Lee should be remembered not by the number of years she lived but by the love she shared with others, the joy and memories she gave us, and the blessings we received because of her.
