Rosa Longoria, a beloved wife and mother, passed peacefully at home in Kingsville, Texas, on August 18, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on March 31, 1942, in Corpus Christi, Tx., to Frank and Mercedes Amaya. Her journey through life was marked by her deep love for family, her unwavering faith, and her infectious laughter.

Rosa's personality shone brightly in all she did. Her caring nature and amazing sense of humor created a warm atmosphere that enveloped her loved ones, transforming ordinary moments into treasured memories. She dedicated her life to raising her daughters and son, cherishing every moment spent with them. Rosa took immense pride in her family, teaching her daughters to be the strong, independent women they became. Her role as a mother extended into being an adoring grandmother, and cherishing the joys of life with her multiple great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness.

A devout Catholic, Rosa’s faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She possessed a warm personality, always ready with a joke and a good sense of humor that would light up any room. Her interests included dancing, bowling, listening to music, and watching the Food Network and Lifetime movies with her daughter, showcasing her vibrant personality.

Among her proudest accomplishments was placing tenth in doubles bowling for the Kingsville Women's Bowling Association, a testament to her competitive yet joyful nature. Additionally, as a breast cancer survivor, Rosa demonstrated resilience and strength that inspired those around her.

Rosa is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ruben Longoria; daughters, Laura (Jason) Perkins and Angela Longoria; son, Ruben Longoria Jr.; grandchildren, Todd (Sarah) Leisher, Justin Clark Perkins, Joshua Angel Perkins, Ruben Longoria, Cristen Longoria; sister, Dolores Quintanilla; brothers, Jerry Amaya and Fernando Amaya; as well as multiple great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mercedes Amaya; father, Frank Amaya; and siblings, Robert Amaya, Helen Garcia, and Ernest Amaya.

A visitation will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville on August 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6:30 PM. A Funeral Service will take place the following day, August 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location, before her interment at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery in Kingsville.

The world has lost a loving matriarch, but her memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her.

The family of Rosa Longoria would like to thank White Orchid Hospice and her private nurse Jamie Gaytan for the compassionate care provided to Rosa and her family during this time, as well as the family and friends that came to see her and attend her services.
