Obituary

Ronald Wilmer Roewe, born on December 11, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80.

His parents were Wilmer Robert Roewe and Lucille Boggan Roewe. When he was a toddler, his family built their homestead on farmland and moved just northwest of Bishop where they were members of the Bishop Church of Christ. After graduating from Bishop High School in 1964, Ronald devoted his life to faith, family and agriculture.

A lifelong and dedicated farmer, Ronald lived his life, sunrise to sunset, through values of hard work, patience, and commitment to the soil he worked and the community he proudly called home. Beyond the fields, he was a steady and comforting presence to all who knew him.

Ronald and his beloved wife, Sharon, shared nearly 60 beautiful years of marriage, just one month shy of their anniversary. Their enduring marriage was a beautiful testament built on their love, deep devotion, and a lifetime of shared memories.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon; his son, Robert Roewe; his daughter, Kathy Hoyle and her husband, Richard; his cherished grandchildren, Heston Hoyle and his wife, Jaylin, and Cassidy Shedd and her husband, Derek; and his precious great-grandson, Koy Shedd, who brought immense joy to his later years. He is also remembered by a wide circle of extended family members, neighbors, and lifelong friends.

Funeral services to celebrate and honor Ronald's life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Bishop, Texas, on August 29th. The family will receive condolences beginning at 10:00 AM, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will take place immediately afterward at Restland Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.
