Rogelio Elizondo

Rogelio C. Elizondo, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the age of 79.  He was born on October 26, 1943, in Santa Rosa, Texas to the late Erlinda Cuellar and George Elizondo.  Rogelio retired from St. Gertrude Catholic Church as a maintenance man, after 38 years of devoted service; with many wonderful memories, including playing his harmonica.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Elizondo; granddaughter, Christine Garner; parents, Erlinda Cuellar and George Elizondo; maternal grandparents, Luisa and Gregorio Cuellar; and numerous family members.

Among those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Leticia (Joe) Moore of Donna, TX; son, Alex Elizondo of Bishop, TX; sisters, Lydia (Macario) Luis, San Juana (Ernest †) Lerma, and Oxilia (Merced) Torres of Taft, TX; grandsons, Josh Jeffers, Richard Jeffers, and Quentin Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 8:00 AM, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 9:00 AM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church.  A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.

Honoring Rogelio as pallbearers are Albert Villarreal, Rudy Villarreal, Joe Villarreal, Robert Villarreal, Daniel Villarreal, Harrell Bedford, Raymundo Moreno, and Alex Elizondo.
