Roberto Ramirez, age 94, of Driscoll, Texas, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and brother-in-law, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 21, 1931, in Driscoll, Texas, to his parents Lorenzo and Juanita Ramirez, Roberto lived a long, full, and joyful life devoted to family, faith, and hard work.
Roberto retired with honors after 35 dedicated years of service at General Motors. A man of many passions, he loved fishing, cooking, gardening, singing, and spending time with his family — especially during his cherished visits to Michigan. He also enjoyed playing Texas Lottery scratch-offs and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune — a show he watched with such dedication that he simply could not be disturbed during its airtime.
Roberto shared a special bond with his loyal dog, Pino, who once saved his life — a story the family remembers with deep gratitude. Pino was not just a pet but a true companion and hero in Roberto’s later years.
Known for his warm heart and cheerful spirit, Roberto brought laughter and love to all who knew him. He was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rafael Ramirez; parents, Lorenzo and Juanita Ramirez; siblings, Aurora Ovalle, Carlos Ramirez, Jose Ramirez, Juanita Guerra, and Maggie Garcia; and his two grandchildren, Michael “Sluggo” Rodriguez and Stephanie Ramirez.
He is survived by his children, Frank R. (Rosie Ramirez), David R. (Rossi Ramirez), Mary Ann R. (Fernando), Jose R., Arturo R. (Nancy), and Roberto Jr. R. (Molly). Roberto was a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren — Kyle, Angelina, Krystal, David, Servando Robert, Ralph Jr., Marcus, Alexandra, Benita, Mathew, Joshua, Amanda, Thomas, Steve, and Sophia — and was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy.
He is also survived by his sister Celia Trevino; his brothers, Tony (Bertha) Ramirez of Kingsville, TX; Erasmo (Margaret) Ramirez of Mission, TX; and Jessie (Gina) Ramirez of Saginaw, MI.
The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a eulogy to be held at 7:00 p.m. A chapel service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Cementerio de la Luz in Driscoll, Texas.
Roberto will be remembered for his kindness, humility, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy of family, hard work, and happiness will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Molly Brown for her devoted caregiving, and to Fernando Dominguez for his tireless help with household projects and medical maintenance — all of which brought comfort and dignity to Roberto’s final years and made daily life easier. Your support was truly appreciated.
