He lived a life marked by purpose, dedication, and an ever-present smile that brightened the lives of those around him.
Rex’s journey began with a profound commitment to his country, serving proudly in the United States Navy during both the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. With 21 years of honorable service, he retired as Chief Petty Officer, embodying the values of loyalty and bravery. Rex transitioned into civilian life with the same dedication, embarking on a fulfilling 28-year career with King Ranch as a security guard in the Santa Gertrudis Division. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rex was most notably a loving father and grandfather. He took immense pride in being a devoted girl dad, embracing the joys and challenges that fatherhood brought. As a beloved Popo, he cherished the time spent with his grandkids, sharing laughter and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
In his retirement, Rex found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed tinkering with small engines in his garage, a pursuit that reflected his hands-on approach to life. He delighted in latch hooking, watching NASCAR and the Food Channel, and engaging in games on his phone, all of which contributed to his cheerful spirit and zest for life.
