Ralph Martin Garza met The Lord on June 26, 2024. Ralph Martin, known to everyone as Marty, was born on August 8, 1950. Marty graduated from Roy Miller High School, Corpus Christi, Texas. He voluntarily enlisted in the United States Navy. He served two tours in Vietnam and was assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk. Marty received various commendations such as The National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, RVN Gallantry Cross with Palm, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, and the RVN Campaign Medal with Device. He was Honorably Discharged from the Navy.

He had a love of music, dancing, and art. Marty loved the Dallas Cowboys and collected Cowboy memorabilia, among other collections.

Marty is preceded in death by his parents, R.S. (Cookie) and Aurora Garza from Kingsville, Texas, and his grandparents, Adan and Antonia (Tonche) Alvarez from Kingsville, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, San Juanita G. Garza, Kingsville, Texas, his son, Ralph Martin Garza, Jr., Houston, Texas and a grandson, Andrew Garza, Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his cousins, Thelma (Carlos) Rodriguez, Corpus Christi, Texas, Elaine (Robert) Perez, San Antonio, Texas, Sandra (Mario, Jr.) Delgado, San Antonio, Texas, Karl (Debbie) Wilson, Sonoma, California, Carol (George) Schunter, Reno, Nevada, James Wilson (Larry), Petaluma, California, various grand nieces and nephews, and his childhood friend, Oscar Martinez, Corpus Christi, Texas.

A special thank you to his doctors, nurses, caseworkers, providers, and staff at the Kingsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kingsville Hospice, Alyda Home Health, Kingsville, Texas, and Spohn Shoreline Hospital, Corpus Christi, Texas. The family is grateful to all the friends and other providers who assisted Marty throughout the years. Finally, many thanks to Turcotte Mortuary, Kingsville, Texas and the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Corpus Christi, Texas.

Services and burial will take place at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 18, 2024, at 10:00 A.M.
