Pedro Hinojosa, Jr., born on May 5, 1952, in the King Ranch - Laureles Division, passed away on May 1, 2025, in Kingsville, Texas, days shy of his 73rd birthday. Pedro lived a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and a deep commitment to his family.

Pedro embodied the spirit of ranch life from an early age. He began working as a cowboy at the tender age of 12, with King Ranch - Laureles Division. His journey through the ranching life took him through several ranches in South Texas until he retired from East Ranch in Sarita, Texas. Pedro's work ethic was unmatched, and he was known for his honesty and straightforward nature, always expressing his thoughts truthfully.

Beyond his professional life, Pedro was a man of many interests. He was a cheerful character, often the life of the party with his infectious sense of humor. Those who knew him will remember him fondly as a jokester who could light up a room. He enjoyed various hobbies, including dancing, weekend barbecues, and fishing; activities that gave him joy and allowing him time with those he loved.

Pedro treasured his time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. His love for them shined brightly, as he cherished every moment they shared together, building memories that will last a lifetime.

Though his boots have taken their last steps, his spirit will live on in the stories exchanged, the laughter shared, and the love that binds his family together. As Pedro was respected for his honest opinions and hard-working nature, it is this same sincerity that will be deeply missed. He has left behind a profound void that can never be filled, but we take comfort in knowing he is at peace.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Sr., and Augustina (Alvarez) Hinojosa; sister, Nora Hinojosa Garcia; and nephew, J.R. Garcia.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tres (Annie) Hinojosa and Robert Lee (Anna) Hinojosa; siblings, Cindy Hinojosa and Jerry Alvarez; brother-in-law, Jose Rene “Borrado” Garcia; grandchildren, LeeAnn Hinojosa, Clayton Hinojosa, Liam Hinojosa, Melina Hinojosa, and Treston Hinojosa; nieces, Prissy Garcia and Amanda Alvarez; nephews, B.J. Alvarez and Armando Alvarez; many friends and extended family.
