Onodelia "Lela" Cabrera

Onodelia (Lela) G. Cabrera, 84, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away on December 13, 2020 in Houston, Texas. She was born on December 7, 1936 in Rios, Texas. Daughter of Benito Gonzales and Virginia S. Gonzales. Mrs. Cabrera retired from KISD in 2000 and served the district for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis G. Cabrera, her parents, brothers and sisters, Josephina G. Rios, Maria Guadalupe Williams, Leonel Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Paula Moreno, Benito Gonzales Jr., Maria Luisa Rios, Thomas Gonzales, Teresa Gonzales, and Olga Garza.

Onodelia is survived by her daughters, Frances Ray from Houston, Tx and Lou Ann Cabrera from San Antonio, Tx; two sisters, Virginia Earls (Norman Earls) from Premont, Tx, and Alma Larson from St. Charles, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Elvira Gonzales; one grandson, Dustin Louis Ray (Stephanie Ray); three great-grandchildren, Bella Rose, Braysen Dean and Brina Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. A chapel service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
