Omelia Tijerina

Omelia Tijerina of Kingsville, Texas passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2021, at the age of 86; surrounded by her family.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Omelia loved spending time with her loving family and friends; and enjoyed listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Arturo C. Perez; daughter, Elva Perez; four brothers and five sisters.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Ramiro Tijerina; daughter, Hilda Escobedo; son, Rolando V. (Norma G.) Perez; grandchildren, Ruby Ann Escobedo and Johnny Escobedo; great-grandchildren, Anyssa, Gianni, and Zanae Escobedo, from Phoenix, Arizona; numerous, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at St. Martin Catholic Church.  A Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
