Olga Serna

Olga R. Serna, age 78, a longtime resident of Sarita, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born July 21, 1939 in Hebbronville, Texas to Felix Rodriguez and Angelita Gomez Rodriguez. Olga was employed for the Riviera Independent School District in the cafeteria for over 20 years until her retirement. Afterwards she was employed for the Kenedy County Food Bank. She was a Kenedy County 4-H leader in homemaking. She was very active in the community of Sarita helping the citizens of Kenedy County in various ways. Mrs. Serna was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sarita.
Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Enemorio Serna; son, Roberto Antonio Serna; parents; one brother, Horacio Rodriguez; and one sister, Oralia Alegria.
Mrs. Serna is survived by one daughter, Diana Leticia Serna of Sarita; two sons, Felix Erasmo Serna (Felicita) of La Paloma Ranch and Enemorio Luis Serna of Sarita; one sister, Guadalupe Obregon of Mission, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sarita, with Fr. Jim Foelker, O.M.I., as celebrant. Burial will follow in Riviera, Texas at the Riviera Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
