Norma I. Villarreal

On the morning of Sunday, September 3, 2023, Norma Irene Villarreal passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in her home in Kingsville, TX.; she was 75 years old. Norma was born in Mission, TX to Ramon and Beatrice Escobar. In 1965, Norma met and fell in love with Enrique G. Villarreal, Jr. of Robstown, TX. The couple wed in 1969 and began a beautiful life filled with world travel, adventure, and family.

Together they raised three children: Oscar (Elaine) of Kingsville, TX, Omar (Alissa) of Corpus Christi, TX, and Lisa (Zachary) of Gold Canyon, AZ. Norma was affectionately known as Mamo to her five grandchildren:  Bethanne, Monique, Michaela, Mason, and Aleah.

Norma excelled at hospitality, homemaking, and interior decorating. She was passionate about providing a warm, safe, loving, and beautiful home for her family. She treated everyone like family: her children’s friends were treated as her own. Anything that you needed, Norma was there to provide. One of her favorite pastimes was holding and rocking babies, particularly her own grandbabies. She was blessed with a soothing and nurturing soul.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Ramon Jr.

and Leo.

She is survived by her husband; children; grandchildren; brothers, David and Noel; and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a prayer service to begin at 4:00 p.m.  Services will conclude that afternoon.
