Mercedes Cortez

Mercedes H. Cortez, age 93, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 in Kingsville. She was born September 24, 1921 in Kingsville to Pedro Hernandez and Maria Infante Hernandez. Mrs. Cortez was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto G. Cortez; daughter, Teresa San Miguel; son, Leonardo Aguilar; and parents.
Mrs. Cortez is survived by two daughters, Carmen Cortez and Mary Cano (Manuel) Cano, both of Kingsville; four sons, Roman Aguilar of Corpus Christi, Texas, Johnny Cortez and Lee Roy Cortez, both of Kingsville, and Carlos Cortez of Austin, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will take place after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
