Melva Elizabeth Plunkett, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on September 9, 2023, at the age of 86. Born on January 9, 1937, in Long Beach, California, Melva lived a life filled with warmth, love, and dedication to her family.

Melva was a woman of great character whose devotion to her loved ones knew no bounds. Her unyielding personality always shone through with an unwavering commitment to her family's well-being. A true matriarch, Melva exemplified what it meant to be family-oriented.

Cooking was one of Melva's true passions. With her culinary expertise and creative flair in the kitchen, she never missed the chance to prepare a sumptuous meal for her loved ones. Gathering around the table for family time filled with laughter and joy was something that brought immense happiness to Melva's heart.

Beyond her culinary talents, Melva had an immense love for her dogs. She shared a special bond with these faithful companions and cherished their presence as part of her family. It was heartwarming to witness the genuine care and affection she bestowed upon them.

Melva was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Melvin and Eva Freeman; her devoted husband of many years, Allen Plunkett; her daughters, Angela Plunkett and Terry Dearman; her siblings Eileen Barry and Robert Plunkett; and her grandson James Ray Dearman. Their memories will forever be cherished by those whose lives they touched.

She is survived by her loving son Rodney Plunkett; sister Nina Ursino; granddaughter Brandie Hussion and grandson-in-law Travis Hussion; great-granddaughter Jordan Hussion. They will continue to carry Melva's legacy in their hearts while cherishing the precious moments they shared together.

A graveside service to honor Melva's life will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas on September 15, 2023. The service will commence at 2:00 PM and conclude at 4:30 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together in remembrance of this remarkable woman.

Melva Elizabeth Plunkett will forever be remembered for her loving nature, her dedication to family, and her passion for cooking. Her legacy will live on through the memories shared by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul find solace, and may her family and friends find comfort in the cherished moments they shared with her.
