Mary “Lydia” Garcia made her departure with her Lord and Personal Savior Peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the tender age of 60.
Words are not enough to describe the legacy she leaves behind, because her actions spoke louder than her words.
2 Timothy 4:7-8- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteousness Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
“Lydia” was a strong loving wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend to everyone she encountered in her journey in life on this side.
She was a pillar to her family, holding them up strong and firm through her actions of love and support. Her voice brought comfort in their distress; her hands made the best homemade course meals daily to feed her family. Her ears listened to cries of their heart, and her warmth arms embraced them. Her eyes saw the needs of her family, and her feet took her to meet those needs. Her heart was full of forgiveness, and compassion. Her Presence to her family always brought light, in gloomy days.
“Lydia” was a simple woman who loved the simple things of life. Motorcycle rides with her husband. To her husband she was his “Yellow Rose”, married for 39 yrs., dated for 2 yrs., and 1 yr. chasing her love. So, you can call it a strong 42yrs of marriage. She enjoyed sitting on a chair watching her grandkids play, while eating her sunflower seeds outside with her yeti cup. She enjoyed the Holidays with her family, and always made time to visit her parents, sisters, and brother. She enjoyed her brothers bar b que and would always say he was handsome. She enjoyed breakfast with her dad at Tapatio in the early morning’s. You can call her a Supermom because she enjoyed her kids, she did whatever she had to do for them. To her life was not material things, but moments with her family and friends. She was the simplest woman and always ready to give. Whether it was giving a word of wisdom, whether it was giving her grandkids a ride to school, whether it was giving her mom a ride to Walmart, followed by a What-A- Burger. You can always count on her to give her time. She was not afraid to open her hands and give, because she knew if she opened her hands to give, it opened the opportunity for God to bless her hands, and Him give right back.
It is the little things that she did in a big way, that we will cherish and miss.
She is preceded in her departure by her mother Josephine “Josie” R. Perez, and her father in law E.M. “Lacha”Garcia.
