Obituary

Marvel Cruz, born on February 10, 1955, passed away on August 22, 2026. She will be remembered with love for the kindness she showed to others and for the deep devotion she gave to her family throughout her life.

Marvel was a loyal employee at Walmart in Kingsville for 24 years. Those who worked alongside her described her as super sweet and caring, a reflection of the gentle spirit she carried with her each day. Beyond her work, she enjoyed watching old movies, doing word puzzles and puzzles, reading, and watching “Little House on the Prairie.” These simple pleasures brought her comfort and joy and were part of the life she warmly shared with those around her.

Above all else, Marvel loved her children and grandchildren and always put her family above everything. Her love was steady and generous, and her family was the center of her life. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Fernando H. Cruz; her children, Nicholi A. (David) Campos, Theresa L. (Nathan Jimenez) Cruz, and Fernando A. Cruz, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Issac C. Campos, Dylan G. Alegria, Nathan A. Alegria, Haley A. Alegria, Isaiah C. Campos, and Brianna N. Campos; her brother, Michael (Marilyn) Lafferty; her sisters, Nelida (Jerry) Woods and Sandra J. (Bruce) Schulke; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald J. Lafferty; her mother, Mary N. Seguin; and her brothers, Gregory Lafferty, Terry R. Lafferty, Patrick J. Lafferty, and Steven J. Lafferty.

Marvel Cruz leaves behind a legacy of love, gentleness, and dedication to family. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
