Martha Mae Thompson 98, of Kingsville, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

During her life she worked a short time with Kingsville ISD until she decided to be a stay at home Mom and spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved the outdoors and spending time in the Hill Country whether in Camp Wood helping graft pecan trees, help dig fence posts, or help with other projects. She loved deer hunting and spending time on the deer lease at Reagan Wells, Tx. She would help plant oats for the deer, fill the feeders and pretty much everything else. There wasn't anything she couldn’t do, however, she didn’t care to drive up a hill with a stick-shift scout and depend on that to get her where she needed to go. She loved to cook everyone’s favorite meal, backstrap with mashed potatoes with the best homemade white gravy. She’d cook an enormous amount of birds (quail or dove) which was always a hit. She loved baking cakes, cookies and would make the best Jalapeno cornbread. She often said that was her special down time from a work filled day.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Warren C. and Martha E. Thackston, her husband Beall, brother Buddy, and sister Nell Hall.

She is survived by her two sons Butch (Jodi) Thompson of Paige Tx, Mike (Margaret) Thompson of Kingsville and daughter, Sandi Thompson of Kingsville. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one Great-Great Granddaughter who were the joy of her life, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Kingsville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Texas Children’s Home, the FBC Handbell Choir or one of your choice.
