Marie Garcia

Marie Garcia passed away on January 22, 2021 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on February 17, 1960 in Kingsville, Texas to Lydia Alegria and Baldemar Garcia. Marie was known for her hard work and helping hands. She served as a correctional officer for over 40 months at the John B. Connally Jr. Unit. Marie was a lover of sports. She loved the San Antonio Spurs, but she was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Baldemar Garcia Jr., and Jose Quintanilla; sister, Josie Soliz; and brother-in-law, James Hill.

Maria is survived by her brothers, Alfonso Garcia (Linda), Aniceto Garcia (Dalinda), Ricardo Garcia (Janie); sisters, Janie Hill, and Jessie Garcia Luna (Natie); several nieces; nephews; other relatives; friends; and beloved dog, Chico.

A public drive-thru visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Rosary will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral mass will be held at St. Martin Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
