Maria Luisa Polanco, 81, of Kingsville, passed away on November 30, 2018 of a broken heart.
She was born on January 27, 1937 in Kingsville, to Luis Alaniz and Maria Acuña Alaniz.
She was a retired L.V.N. and worked as a nurse at Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg, Kleberg County Nursing & Rehabilitation and also worked as a traveling nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Ramos Polanco; one daughter, Mercedes Polanco; one son, Reynaldo Polanco; two sisters Manuela Alaniz Ramirez, Esmeralda Acuna Alaniz; four brothers Julian Alaniz, Gilberto Alaniz, Guadalupe Alaniz (MIA), and Baldomero Alaniz.
She is survived by one daughter, Lydia Alaniz Polanco, of Victoria, TX.; three sons Manuel Polanco and Hector Polanco both of Kingsville, TX; and David Polanco of Hedgesville, West Virginia; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, December 9 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with the Rosary starting at 7 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 10 at St Martin Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
