IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria Oralia
Ruiz
June 1, 1935 – January 23, 2026
Maria Oralia Ruiz, born on June 1, 1935, peacefully departed this world at her home, surrounded by her family on January 23, 2026. Born on June 1, 1935, to Virginia and Narciso Garza in Alice, Texas, Maria graced the lives of many with her love, joy, and unwavering strength for 90 remarkable years. A true matriarch, she was the heart of her family, weaving a tapestry of unconditional love and fierce protection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maria's laughter was an inviting melody that filled every room, illuminating the spirits of those around her. She possessed a warmth that could soothe the heaviest of hearts, her tenderness evident in every hug, and kind word. Her spirit was a joyous one, and her love for dancing was a reflection of that vibrant personality. She cherished the moments spent dressed up, dancing, and celebrating life with her family—reveling in the joy of being surrounded by those she held most dear.
Her greatest pride dwelled in her family; and she was a devoted caregiver, sacrificing selflessly to nurture and protect those she loved. With grace and quiet strength, Maria demonstrated how powerful love could be, instilling values of devotion and resilience that will be carried on by future generations. Her legacy of strength, kindness, and joy will forever echo in the hearts of her family members, as they reflect on the sacrifices she made throughout her life.
As we gather to remember Maria Oralia Ruiz, let us hold close the memories of her laughter, her gentle spirit, and her boundless capacity for love. She has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and while her physical presence will be missed, her spirit will forever guide and inspire us. In our memories, she will continue to dance, laugh, and protect us with her fierce love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Narciso Garza; sons-in-law, Roel Flores and Rolando Ortiz; and brother, Margarito Garza.

We are deeply thankful to our sister Belma for the loving care she gave Mom in her final days, even while carrying her own grief. Knowing that Mom was at peace and felt so deeply loved because of Belma brings us great comfort. Her strength, love, and selflessness are beyond words.
