Maria L. Martinez passed peacefully at home on October 20, 2026. She was born in Kingsville, TX, on March 2, 1939, to Faustino and Cleotilde Mendietta.

She is survived by her children Mary Ann, Steve Jr., Anna (Rick), and Eugene (Nancy); her grandchildren, Corina, Vanessa, Jessica, Matthew, Michael, Jessie, Lisa, Jamie Lee, Eugene Jr., and Emily; and her sister, Lucilla Smart.

She is preceded in death by her husband Esteban; her brother, Manuel Mendietta; her sister, Anjelica Hall; her daughter, Lisa Marie; granddaughter, Amy Trevino; and her grandson, Jason Gonzalez.

We will celebrate her life with a visitation on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A Liturgy will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, followed by burial at 11:15 AM, at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.

She will be forever in our hearts.
