Maria Macias was born on February 20, 1921 and went to Heaven in her sleep on December 16, 2018 at the age of 97. She will be welcomed in Heaven by her husband Guillermo Macias, her mother Pepa Rodriguez and only brother Paul Rodriguez. Born in the city of Encinal, TX she moved to Robstown then Bishop, where she raised her daughter Elma Gloria Zavala (Pepe) and her son Jacinto Macias (Mary Jane), a US Army veteran, as well as her grandchildren Jerry (Mari), Gabriel (Michelle), Jason and JoAnn. She lived with Jerry Sedillo, then later helped raise his children in Corpus Christi. Maria lived her last two years in Bishop, TX where she called home. She so loved her 14 great-great-grandchildren. Maria's extreme love and patience for children made her a staple in the Bishop community for babysitting dozens of kids. Maria Macias was a kind, loving and humble soul, like a grandmother to all who met her. That is why she will forever be known as Wela.
