Maria Gutierrez

Maria Idolina "Lina" Gutierrez, 65, passed away on May 30, 2019 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on September 12, 1953 in Kingsville, Texas to Victor Benigno Gutierrez and Micaela Cortez. She was a eucharistic minister for Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of Sarita and Sacred Heart Mission Church of Ricardo, and was a committed disciple of Christ, a true Christian who dedicated her entire life for the church, her family and friends. She was always willing to help her neighbors and provide any assistance for those who needed aid. She always welcomed everybody and anybody into her home with open arms. Her unconditional love for her family and friends was unmeasurable. Her hobbies included, fishing, gardening, and singing praise to our God while in and out of church worship. Her faith and words of wisdom provided comfort for those who needed it in their life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Benigno Gutierrez and step mother, Eudelia "Lala" Gutierrez; three brothers, David Gutierrez, Seferino Gutierrez, and Arturo Gutierrez.

Lina is survived by six sisters, Aurora Pugh, Monga G. Jimenez (Carlos) both of Riviera, Texas, Ofelia G. Lopez (Jorge) of Orange, California, Benita G. Montemayor, Emma G. Simms, and Edna G. Pena (Audon) all of Riviera, Texas; five brothers, Elias D. Gutierrez, Seferino D. Gutierrez both of Riviera, Texas, Victor Benigno Gutierrez Jr. of Abilene, Texas, Ernan Gutierrez (Consuelo) of Kingsville, Texas, and Jose Angel Gutierrez of Sarita, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Sarita, Texas. Interment will follow at Riviera Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas.
