Maria Garcia

Maria G. Garcia, 98, of Bishop. Texas, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2019 at Kleberg County Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kingsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Falfurrias, Texas on October 3, 1920.
Maria was a long life resident of Bishop, where she was an active member of St. James Catholic Church. She was active at the Bishop Senior Center and enjoyed serving cake and tea at weddings and quinceaneras and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel H. Garcia, one son, Israel; and her three daughters, Irma Garcia of Los Indios, Dolly Garcia of Kingsville, and Hilda Nunez of Kingsville, son-in-law, Robert Mendez.
Left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Manuel(Sylvia) Garcia of Bishop, Ruben (Esmeralda) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Noe (Sandra) Garcia of Bishop, Arnoldo Garcia of Kingsville; four daughters, Jackie Mendez of Ricardo, Delma Garcia of Kingsville, Olga Garcia of Kingsville, Debra A. (George) Moreno of Bishop; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 3 to 9 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10 AM at St James Catholic Church in Bishop. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery in Bishop.
