Malcolm Hamff, 68, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 27, 1950 to the late Malcolm "Mac" and Doris Hamff in Kingsville, Texas. Malcolm grew up in Kingsville, graduated from H. M. King High School and attended Texas A & M University Kingsville, formerly Texas A & I.
Malcolm had a long career spanning over 30 years with Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads. During that time, he and his family lived in many different towns in Texas and Nebraska. Malcolm was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed water sports, hunting, fishing and golf. He was an enthusiastic baseball and football fan and some of his best times were spent coaching his son's little league teams. He encouraged his grandchildren's participation in sports and was their biggest fan.
Above all else, Malcolm was a devoted son and brother, loving husband, proud father, treasured grandfather and loyal friend. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, contagious laugh and generosity. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Kathy. Malcolm is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara; son, Chase Hamff and his wife, Liz and daughter, Camille Holland and her husband, Mike. Also left to treasure his memory are his grandchildren, Audrey, Avery, Marek, Caitlyn, Caleb and Connor. In addition, Malcolm is survived by cousins, Laura Bice, Nancy Hamff, Ben Carl Speer, Steven Speer, Bill Gohlke, Michael Gohlke, Mary Ann Myer and Jack Mullins.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Turcotte-Piper Funeral Home located at 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Riviera Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
