Magdalena Lopez

Magdalena (Elena) Lopez, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 10, 2018. She was born on August 22, 1925 in Robstown, Texas to Geronimo Gutierrez and Teresa Garza. She worked for Dr. Etheridge and Dr. Ward and retired from Kleberg County Hospital where she worked as an LVN/Nurse's aide.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jesus Lopez Sr.; her daughter Maria Elena (Millie) Vera (Abel Vera); five sisters, Paula Gutierrez, Jesusa Silva, Maria Cortez, Rosa Hinojosa, Paulita Lomas; two brothers Geronimo Gutierrez and Hermenejildo Gutierrez.
She is survived by one daughter, Priscilla Bookman of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Jesus (Fanny) Lopez Jr. of Spring, Texas and Manuel (Enriqueta) Lopez of Kingsville, Texas, two grandsons that she raised, Steven Lopez and Richard Lopez; one sister, Sofia Silguero of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5p.m. - 9p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Martin Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas.
