LeeRoy Kieschnick was born in Bishop, Texas, on May 29, 1929 to Louis and Ida Kieschnick. And, after 96 years on this earth, he peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 11, 2025.
LeeRoy was a lifelong resident of Bishop, graduated from Bishop High School, the first in his family to do so, and enlisted in the Air Force where he served for seven years. While stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, LeeRoy met the love of his life, Isabel Morgenroth, whom he married on July 27, 1950. During their 75 years of marriage, LeeRoy and Belle spent 65 of them in Bishop where they raised their eight children.
When finished with his time in the Air Force, LeeRoy went to work at Celanese Chemical Company, where he stayed for 37 years.
Aside from work, LeeRoy was a devoted husband, father, devout Catholic and a servant to the community of Bishop. He coached Little League, was a member of the St. James Catholic Church Parish Council, and served on the Bishop City Council for 27 years. LeeRoy was also a charter member of the American Legion Post 185 in Bishop.
LeeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Elmo Kieschnick and Louis Kieschnick, his sisters Estelle Haug, Helen Shafer, Viola Prinz and his grandson Bradley Kieschnick.
LeeRoy is survived by his wife Isabel, his children Mike (Sandy) Kieschnick, Marc (Bridget) Kieschnick, Kay (Bog) Stubbs, Brian (Loretta) Kieschnick, Bruce (Susan) Kieschnick, Jane Kieschnick, Joan (Jim) Brock, Gayle (Steve) Vaughn, 26 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Visitation will be at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas on Monday, November 17 at 5:00 PM with the Holy Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, Bishop, Texas. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, Bishop, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in LeeRoy Kieschnick’s name to the St. James Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, Kingsville, Texas.
