Laura Kuhn

Laura Earlene Kuhn, age 92, a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas and a former resident of Kingsville and Alice, Texas passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Corpus Christi. Mrs. Kuhn was born May 30, 1920 in Iowa Park, Texas to Daniel Boone Whitaker and Willie Ada Goode Whitaker. Earlene, a homemaker, took care of her father and sister during the last years of their lives. Her passion was being involved in the care of her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. One of her favorite hobbies was being an avid reader. Her joy in life was being a mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents sister, Rachel Taplin and two brothers, William Bill Whitaker and Jack Whitaker.
Mrs. Kuhn is survived by three sons, Tommy Kuhn Debby of Canute, Oklahoma, Danny Kuhn Nanette of Kingsville and Mike Kuhn of Vidor, Texas brother, Daniel Boone Whitaker Jr. Millie of New Braunfels, Texas 10 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will take place Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the TurcottePiper Mortuary.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at the TurcottePiper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Gary Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
