Kendra Amason Schroeder

Kendra Amason Schroeder, a remarkable individual whose spirit and boundless compassion touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024. Born on January 15, 1979, Kendra's time on this earth was filled with love, laughter, an unwavering faith, and a deep commitment to helping others.

Having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston - Victoria, Kendra embarked on a fulfilling career as a Pre-Arrangement / Aftercare Specialist for Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.  Kendra's passion for making a difference in people's lives was recognized when she received the Sales Counselor of the Year award in 2021. She possessed a unique ability to offer solace and support during times of grief, providing immense comfort to countless families.  She had a unique bond with her work family, and they held a very special place in her heart; her spunky “It’s just me” every time she walked through the doors, will be immensely missed.

While Kendra found great fulfillment in her professional life, it was her unwavering devotion to her family that truly defined her character. Spending cherished moments with loved ones was always of utmost importance to her. Whether gathering around the dinner table or enjoying cozy movie nights, Kendra embraced the joy of these simple moments. She took immense pride in supporting and attending her children's events, most notably relishing in watching her daughter Lily showcase her skills on the golf course.  Kendra was also an avid animal lover and found great companionship in her beloved fur-baby, Tucker. Their bond was heartwarming and brought endless joy to both their lives.

She exemplified an insatiable curiosity throughout her life and had an incredible love for bees and flowers. Among them, lilies, sunflowers, and hibiscus held a special place in her heart, reflecting the beauty and vibrancy she exuded in her own life.  Possessing an infectious smile that could light up any room, Kendra was widely admired for her kindness and warm nature. She possessed an innate ability to put others at ease, ensuring that everyone felt valued and welcomed in her presence. Her sharp wit and incredible sense of humor never failed to brighten even the grayest of days.

Outside of work and family life, Kendra had a knack for shopping – with a unique talent for finding hidden treasures while embarking on shopping sprees, particularly excelling in the art of thrift shopping. She glowed while sharing her fabulous finds with her work family, proudly proclaiming the incredible deals she uncovered. Her enthusiasm for these adventures added an extra sparkle to what was already a radiant personality.

One of Kendra's proudest accomplishments was attending the Living Beyond Breast Cancer conference in Philadelphia in April 2023. Through this experience, she gained valuable knowledge to support and assist others on their own breast cancer journeys. Kendra's empathetic and nurturing nature made her a pillar of strength for those around her.

Kendra Amason Schroeder will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on as a testament to the beauty of a life lived with kindness, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. As we mourn the loss of an incredible soul, may we also celebrate the impact Kendra had on our lives and honor her by spreading love and kindness to others, just as she did every day. She did not lose this fight, she finished it. Rest in peace, sweet Kendra.
