Keith Clayton
Foster
March 18, 1946 – January 29, 2026
Keith Clayton Foster, 79, of Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, in Kingsville, Texas.
Keith was a gentle man with quiet strength—intelligent, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his family. A creature of habit, he found comfort in routine and held strong convictions, especially when it came to thoughtful and spirited political debate.
A proud Marine, Keith served his country during the Vietnam War. Education and service were central to his life. He earned a master's degree in teaching from Western State College of Colorado and went on to teach there at the college level, leaving a lasting impression on the many students he guided. There, in Gunnison, Colorado, he met his beloved wife, Gloria, with whom he shared nearly 53 years of marriage. Together, they served in the Peace Corps in Lesotho for two years, where he found deep fulfillment teaching children in his workshop, guiding them in hands-on skills and craftsmanship.
Keith was a jack of all trades, and in his later years, he became an extremely talented detailer. He developed a passion for steel drafting and took great pride in his work.
Keith loved the outdoors and found peace in fly fishing and time spent in nature—especially in the mountains surrounding his beloved cabin in Tincup, Colorado, which he and Gloria helped build with their own two hands. They spent every summer there together, creating a place filled with love, meaning, adventure, and lasting memories.
He was highly creative, expressing himself through teaching, woodworking, leatherworking, ceramics, and his appreciation for the arts. Whether viewing classic works or listening to his favorite music, he found joy in life's simple, meaningful moments.
Above all, Keith loved his family. His presence was steady, his love unwavering, and his legacy lives on through the lives he touched.
Keith was the beloved widower of Gloria Foster and a devoted father to his daughters, Keri and Britney Foster. He was a beloved “Poppy” to his grandchildren and is also survived by his sister, Lin Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Keith Foster.
Keith's gentle spirit and quiet strength will remain with all who knew and loved him—carried forward through memory, love, and the generations he so deeply cherished.
