Judy Mcdonald Wood

Judy Jane McDonald Wood, 81, formerly lifetime resident of Kingsville, passed away on March 16, 2021 in Pearland, Texas.  She was born to Kelsey Woodson Smith and Ica Frances (Alford) Smith on September 15, 1939 in Poteau, Oklahoma.

She married Robert “Putter” McDonald on December 23, 1955.  They remained married for 34 years until his passing in 1989.  Then Judy remarried to Richard Wood on November 7, 1991.  They were married for 23 years until his passing in 2015.  Both men were wonderful, honorable and loving husbands Judy adored.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, first and second husbands, Robert McDonald and Richard Wood.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Teas (Tommy), Rochelle Abernathy (John).  Two Step-Sons, Ricky Wood (Casey) and Robert Wood.  Five grandchildren, Amanda Teas, Debbie Teas (Jason), Jennifer Ryan (Austin), Miranda (Michael) and John Wood.  Numerous nephews, extended family and friends.

Judy Wood was a wonderful daughter, sister, Mother and Grandmother (Meme).  Her attention to detail was important and she always took pride in keeping things the organized, and neat.  Richard and Judy were longtime members of First Christian Church in Kingsville, Texas. She enjoyed gardening, baking, arts and crafts, card playing, traveling, dancing and volunteering at her church on various projects.

Many thanks to the wonderful, kind and caring sitters who loved and cared for Judy are Azalea Jimenez, Lisa Babcock, Claudia Rubio and Jean Straeder.  To the church members of First Christian Church, held each member in her heart, and maintained lasting friendships through the years.  Lastly, her longtime companion, Fur Baby (Sassy) recently passed and met Judy in Heaven.

Visitation is on Friday, March 26 from 4 p.m. to  8 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.  A funeral will be held on Saturday, March 27 at First Christian Church at 10 a.m..  Burial follows at Resthaven Cemetery.

The family request that memorial contributions be given to First Christian Church, 1900 Brahma Blvd., Kingsville, Texas or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
